Isn't it interesting that the "anti abortion protesters" are all men?
at least, judging from TV reports about Sotomayor hearings.

Men who would never get pregnant, who would never undergo physical, physiological and emotional changes while carrying an embryo to term; men whose life will never be in jeopardy during pregnancy and delivery; men who would never be forced to continue with pregnancy after being raped - at any age; men who - as happens in some parts of the world - won't be stoned to death because a woman in the family claims that that pregnancy brings shame to the tribe?

2. Yeah, "their women" couldn't come because shoes are required to enter the building. nt

3. Interesting? It's telling. It's also not surprising.
It's also infuriating and pathetic.

You know, if men got pregnant, as opposed to women, there'd be a clinic next to every convenience store.

6. One of the protestors was Jane Roe...
...but I know what you mean.

If abortion was part of the male sexual portfolio, it would be a sacrament.

7. Have you noticed that they're also

very unattractive men who really shouldn't reproduce.

8. Haven't noticed their face, but they should not reproduce
for their neanderthal view of the world.

11. Was she screaming and removed from the room?
As I said, the few clips that I saw had men - you could hear them yelling. Perhaps they made a good shot for the TV camera.

13. Yes. Otherwise it wouldn't have been relevant for me to mention it.

EDIT: Still agree with you in general, just not on the specific facts of the current hearings.

12. Can you please change it to "late term abortion?"
Yes, I know, this is what they signed, and are still bragging about it.

But just as we should not call them "pro-life" we should use the more accurate medical term "late term abortion."

:hi:

15. Abortions that late usually account for less than 1% of all abortions
and are usually done for medically necessary reasons, for the health of the mother.

17. My brother is a big anti-choice blabbermouth
We were discussing the topic one day because he was complaining that some of the members of the Catholic church he attends voted for Republicans just on that issue alone. He keeps trying to tell them that there are other issues besides abortion. That the Republicans are destroying the country because of it.

While he was discussing the subject in a more rational way, I decided to take this opportunity to ask him why in the past 7 years or so he had all of the sudden become so adamantly anti-abortion when I had never heard him voice opposition prior to that. He said it was because his daughter (my niece) had aborted completely healthy twins simply because she didn't want to be tied down with them and that it was so painful for him. I never knew she was pregnant.

Behind every man that is anti-abortion I bet lies a similar story. Someone significant in their life had an abortion against their wishes. This is their way of regaining control. It doesn't excuse it, but I understand it a little better now.
