4. They just showed some brief clips of Obama in the locker rooms. Just talking
to the players like he's their friend, completely relaxed, joking around. How cool to see someone who really does relate to everyone he meets.

Looking forward to seeing him toss the first pitch.

31. He's never had emotion.
In every speech he's given, his voice is very robotic and lacks any sort of emotional draw.

Even the speech after 9/11 or prior to the invasion of Iraq.

It never changes.

Which means he puts no heart into anything. He just reads.

77. Great throw, bad camera angle! And, did I hear boos?
Just saw the throw on mundanetv online. Great toss but the angle had the president's right side. It didn't show the pitch reaching Pujos.

Also, heard some boos. Might be because of White Sox jacket. He's a south-sider thru and thru.

Did anyone else have a better angle?

Every president, outside of maybe Roosevelt, got booed at baseball games.

98. Aren't you due for another "recommend this thread if Obama is the
handsome-est, most cool babe that you would just die to have as a boyfriend" thread?

Is there any depth to your embarrassing display of actually worshiping a politician the way you do day after day.

What a disgrace.

106. Yea, I am bitter about the blind followers who have their heads in the sand,
sign off on anything Obama does and can't admit he does anything wrong .. and won't even entertain the idea of allowing a disadvantaged kid to throw out the first pitch, instead of a politician whose already had all of his dreams come true.

It's tragic.

Of course it couldn't be possible that they were booing the Sox jacket and not the President.

I'm on your side cboy, but you knew that.

We need a Constitutional Amendment guaranteeing a separation between Sport and State.

97. Yea, and some of us don't like seeing politicians freeload at major
sporting events.

I don't care which party they represent.

"Oh is the right Mr. President?" (forced chuckle by the play-by-play team).

Why we've only heard that story a million times.

"Oh you root for the Chicago White Sox? OMG, we had no idea!! What a thrill it must be for you to be here!11!"

:boring: :boring: :boring: :boring:

115. cboy4... Count Me In With You... The Constant Exposure Is Getting To Me.
I commented at another thread that we elected a PRESIDENT, not a MOVIE STAR! I understand his trying to remain popular, this country needs some REAL CHANGE, but I MUST be missing something. I KNOW it must be exciting to see the REAL President chum up with the people, but... well I'm at a loss for words, really.

R&R is good I guess.

96. MLB audience likely doesn't follow politics and news like we do
So this was a good idea by Obama.

The only people who could possibly be against this are Republicans, or Democrats who have an anti-Obama agenda.

100. In all seriousness, why do we need to have politicians .. people with some
of the lowest ratings when it comes to occupations -- show up and have to be a part of a Major League Baseball All Star game?

There's nothing worse than seeing Rudy Giuliani in every camera shot at Yankees games.

There's nothing worse than seeing Bush sitting in his luxury box at Texas Rangers games.

Can us sports fans enjoy a game without seeing unpopular lawmakers -- people very few in society trust -- slobbered all over at a game?

And BTW, nice generalization that sports fans don't follow politics and news "like we do."

Where did you pull that out of your ass?

Now, we can argue whether they belong there but it goes way back, before Obama was even born. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ceremonial_first_pitch

105. I know it goes way back .. but why not let the kid from the Boys and Girls
Club of Greater St. Louis throw out the ball, and make his/her dream come true?

Obama has already accomplished more than most people on earth can dream about.

He doesn't need any more dreams to come true. Let a kid.

It's okay to criticize the president Jennicut. He's only a lowly politician.
