Hey Freepers & Birthers give it up. 8/4/61 Honolulu Paper
Look somebody is playing you for suckers and fools .... good chance they are
taking your money too.

So not unless B. Obama or somebody got into Mr. Peabody's "Way Back Machine" and went back
to 1961 and changed the type in the Honolulu paper's printing press this all the proof you should
need.

3. Thanks for posting this, but the birthers don't really give a shit about any of that.
They just want to believe that Obama is not actually president, and that somehow Sarah Palin will be deputized to physically drag him out of the White House as a result of discovering his true Kenyan birth certificate.

5. Well.. Ann Dunham Obama had a premonition that her mixed-race son would run for President someday
...so she had that notice posted.

:sarcasm:

Because, as you know, in 1961 it was common belief that it was just a matter of time before a mixed-race son of a poor white Kansan and a Kenyan would become President of the United States.

And being the savvy 18-year-old she was, Ann Dunham Obama *knew* that the Constitution would prevent her son from becoming President if he was born outside the United States.... so she conducted this elaborate cover-up to hide the fact that Obama was born in Kenya.

Starting with the newspaper notice.

:sarcasm:

Obama Birth Announcement False (UPDATED!)
Obama Conspiracy Theories ^ | April 15, 2009 | Dr. Conspiracy

Posted on Sun Jul 5 11:21:07 2009 by SvenMagnussen

According to the Honolulu Advertiser, it was practice to get birth announcements from the Health Department via a news service, not from private submissions, as evidenced by that fact that two independent newspapers had the same announcement with the same announcements for other infants before and after. The announcement had to come from the Health Department, via the birth registration. So what gives? Did they live there or not? It all becomes clear with careful reading and examination of the evidence.

In two other lawsuits, the plaintiffs argued that it was irrelevant whether he was born in Hawaii,<50> but argued instead that he was nevertheless not a natural born citizen because his citizenship at birth was, in part, determined by the British Nationality Act. The relevant courts have either denied all applications or declined to render a judgment due to lack of jurisdiction.

26. The site the Freepers linked to, the article actually concluded that the announcement
was probably true.

http://www.obamaconspiracy.org/2009/04/obama-birth-announcement-false/comment-page-7/#comment-13032

Option A

Let’s assume for a moment that everything that Baro says about the interview is true (but not perhaps complete).

...

Now exactly who is “the family” in that sentence? It clearly says “Stanley Ann Dunham and Barack H. Obama Sr.” lived elsewhere. It does not say that Stanley Ann’s parents, Stan and Madelyn Dunham, didn’t live there. Indeed, we know that Stan and Madelyn Dunham did live on Kalanianaole Highway from 1960 to 1963 as evidenced by an article from the Honolulu Advertiser:

...

Since the Dunham’s did live next door, it makes perfect sense that Ms. Arakaki would know where the Obama family, her neighbor’s kids, lived as she claimed. If the Dunham family did NOT live next door, how in the world would Ms. Arakaki know where some obscure college kids who had only been in the city a year lived?

Since the Dunhams lived at the birth registration address, it would not have been criminal or fraudulent for Stanley Ann to have put down her mother’s address as her “usual residence”, especially if she were in transition from one place to another, or was unsure where they were going to live, or if (as the newspaper suggested) they intended to or actually did live in the “cottage out back”. There are half a dozen perfectly legal, harmless and plausible reasons why Stanley Ann Obama would have listed her parents’ address on her hospital form.

Because we have no transcript of the Arakaki interview, only a biased summary, we do not know how much other information was provided that could totally change the meaning of the interview.

There is simply nothing in this record that credibly challenges the birth announcement.

Option B

Is the Arakaki interview essentially true? The comments to this article suggest that it is not, and that public records show that Arakaki did not live at the house in question in 1961. (See comments.) In that case, we would assume that the “usual address” of Stanley Ann Obama was indeed 6085 Kalanianaole Highway (perhaps in the cottage out back). The birth registration would have made no assertion that she lived there with Barack Obama Sr. We know they were soon separated and eventually divorced. We don’t know that they were still living together on August 4, 1961. Indeed there is a lot we don’t know about the early details of the Obama marriage, and no one is left alive that can tell us. We do, however, have a newspaper birth announcement which is about all we can rely on at this point.

28. Ok... so to believe the birth took place somewhere else, you would have to believe:

- That Ann Dunham Obama, at 18 years old, had a strong feeling that her son would want to be President someday.

- That Ann Dunham Obama, at 18 years old, felt that racial and religous attitudes would progress over the next 40 years to allow the mixed-race son of a Kenyan atheist and a Kansan agnostic to seriously consider becoming President.

- That even though her son was automatically a citizen by virtue of her being an American citizen, as per the 14th amendment, that Ann Dunham Obama, at 18 years old, knew that the constitutional requirement for becoming President included a special kind of citizenship called "Natural Born".

- That KNOWING all this, Ann Dunham Obama *still* travelled out of the country... while 9 months pregnant... to Kenya... to deliver her son. (She had just left school 2 weeks prior to Barack's birth). Even though airline regulations at the time forbade women in their final trimester from flying. So even though Ann Dunham Obama had a strong premonition that her son would be President someday, she risked it all by illegally flying out of the country during her final month of pregnancy to deliver her child in Kenya.

- Then... immediately following the birth of her son, she flew back to Hawaii... with a week-old newborn (another airline rule broken - newborns weren't permitted on planes in 1961)... just so she could quickly get an announcement in the newspaper of her son's birth (the announcement is just 9 days after his birth). Even though the announcements came from the Hawaii Dept. of Health, and NOT from individuals phoning it in.

Did she know somebody at the Health Dept that would be able to put the birth announcement in the paper FOR her?

How did she manage to take TWO illegal flights: one to Kenya while very late in her pregnancy and one home with a newborn in her lap?

She had to be the most savvy, most intelligent, most well-connected 18-year-old kid in the history of the world to pull that off.

...and she had to be clairvoyant.

55. The onus is on you
to point out other instances where birth announcements for babies born in other countries are published in a paper's daily log. These items: birth, death, marriage licenses, come from the county or the city in which they happened. Whatever that department is called, Vital Records, Department of Health etc., they are the ones who provide the information to the paper. For example, when I was a reporter for a daily, my beat was crime. Every morning at 5:30, I would go down to the county cop shop and get a list of the crimes that were committed in that county in the last 24 hours. Then I would go down to the city cop shop and do the same. These crimes were committed in the city limits of the town in which I was in. I would then write them up in a log form, similar to this one.

So, please show me an instance where a newspaper would publish a birth announcement from another country in its daily log.

57. out-of-state marriage and death announcements are often carried in local papers...
when someone who used to live in the area dies or gets married, they'll often run an announcement to let friends know about it.

btw- i have no doubts about obama's citizenship- i'm just pointing out that an announcement in a paper is not proof of where someone was born, unless as is often done- they are listed by hospital, which isn't the case with the announcement linked in the op.

59. Not in the paper's log they don't run them
These items come from whatever department in the city or county compiles the information. These are not wedding announcements or obituaries that would be paid for. In the Toledo Blade, once a year, parents can pay for a birth announcement that includes a photo. The listing of births in the OP is not like that so the births listed in that log occurred where the paper was published. Do you understand that? That is how we know where the children listed in this log were born where this paper was published.

I am not sure how much clearer I can make myself. Have you not ever read a paper before? Here is the log from the Toledo Blade:

72. Unless said newpaper has suspicious propotional fonts...
That were simply not available on newspaper printing presses in 1961 in Hawaii.

Game, Set, and match to freeperville high.

48. Why wouldn't?
These announcements are for residents of a particular area, it's not like they throw out random birth announcements from around the world.

58. if somebody lived in the area, and then moved away they could still carry an announcement.
it happens quite regularly when people who move away and die or get married- their local paper will carry an announcement or obituary.
and- in our local paper, births are listed by hospital- that isn't the case with the ad in the op.

62. But this isn't the same as
a family self publishing a birth announcement. It is an official listing from the Health Department of all births and deaths. The local health department would have no reason to publish a Kenyan birth.

73. Back in the day
couples applying for a marriage license had to provide medical tests proving that didn't have VD to the health departments of many local jurisdictions. This may explain it.

hence no announcement.

23. Space aliens were in charge of the paper then and Satan was the Editor
They wanted to call it the Honolulu End Times Gazette before Barack Obama, a two day old child, walked to the newspaper headquarters and fired the staff... and vaporized them like flies.

You know where this is going...

33. 6085 kalanianaole highway honolulu hi
Funny, as soon as I started typed the address in Google, it came up in auto-completion, probably because it is looked up a lot.

There are probably worse places to grow up.

Here is the Google Map for you:

37. "SERVICE ANYONE?"
That is an historical document: the 44th president's birth announced, along with tradespeople's and service workers' notices of their businesses.

61. Flat-earthers deny evidence that
the world isn't flat, and the "birthers" are just as stubborn with regards to President Obama being a natural-born citizen of the U.S.

Let the fools show their stupidity to the world. The more they carry on, the worse they look.

69. It's actually an August 13, 1961 paper
...and it says Mr. and Mrs. Barack H. Obama, NOT B. Obama. There's a huge difference between B. Obama and Barack H Obama.

If we're dealing with facts here, couldn't you at least transcribe anything factual from the article??
