I love that the Judiciary Commitee Dems are completely ignoring the firefighters and focusing their
questions on the witnesses who actually have something useful to say.

Let the firefighters - who were brought in for no reason other than as fodder for conservative race-baiting - just sit there since they are totally irrelevant to the serious issues at hand.

1. I would like a (D)
to somehow get "empathy" into the conversation about why the firefighters are there. The manly republicans who say they want robots on the supreme court and have no use for empathy bring Ricci in for one reason only, empathy.

3. I agree - but they can bring it up at any time - don't need to do it right now
which could lead the conservatives to whine that the Dems are picking on the poor firefighters.

2. Here would be my questions for them ...
1) What is your background in the law or Constitutional issues?

2) Should the appeals court have shown more empathy to your situation/

3) Do you think the 2 white justices on the appeal's court were prejudiced against whites?

That would be enough.

6. In addition
Excerpt from article in the New Haven Independent.

As Ricci becomes a national symbol of the deserving candidate whose opportunities were vanquished by alleged reverse discrimination, attention has focused on a fact that complicates his case. Recent reports revealed that Ricci originally got his job on the New Haven force through his own discrimination complaint under the Americans with Disabilities Act. He claimed he was denied employment on the basis of his dyslexia.
