14. Maybe he has a contract with MSNBC and he is trying to force them
into breaking it by firing his ass. Then he could saunter on over to Racist Central at Faux News and be welcomed with open arms. He could even wear his sheet and hood on air.

There are times when you are sure that Pat Buchanan can go no lower and then he grabs a shovel and keeps digging. I want to know why Harball and Rachel keep having him on. You notice he doesn't darken the door of Countdown. But on the flip side he has his own specially racist seat with Joe the Dead Intern and Mika the Shill each morning who let him rant his tripe endlessly.

He is a filthy joke and MSNBC should be ashamed.

23. Actually, I think MSNBC is a more likely home for him than Fox.
Potential protestors / boycotters would less likely target MSNBC than Fox for harboring Buchanan, because MSNBC is "the liberal network," and one is less likely to protest / boycott one's friends.

4. It won't happen unless he lets a "forbidden pejorative" escape
and even then, he'll probably be permitted to apologize and it will all be forgotten. Toothless old lion that he is.

16. Maybe he'll let one fly like his former Crossfire fill in host Bob Novak did?
Didn't Novakula say "this is bullshit" and walk off the set in the middle of the show?

11. He was just on with Rachael.
She drew him out and he shared his views regarding race in general and affirmative action specifically. He was too dumb to shut up and kept destroying himself as the segment went on. Surely he will be taken to task for this.

7. He's certainly showing off his main talent tonight- that of an ignorant, sexist, racist asshole
Qualities he just abounds in. He should just move over to Fox and be done with it. What a fucking asshole.

Edited on Thu Jul-16-09 08:21 PM by uponit7771
...but for some reason I can't dislike him like I disliked Imus before his apology.

Maybe because he is at least out with his racism and xenophobia and doesn't try to hide it and be fake.

34. I know what you mean
With Pat, I can totally disagree with what he says, but not dislike him personally. Maybe it is because he doesn't speak in republican talking points. And he has been known to actually laugh at himself.

Also, I can remember him opposing Bush's Middle East debacle, when so many republican and Democrats supported the invasion of Iraq. He expressed his own opinions, not that of any party. Unfortunately his opinions on race are disturbing and I could tell that Rachel was surprised at how far he went.

18. I wish she would've pointed out more strongly that Sotomayor graduated at the top of her class on
her OWN and is given the highest rating of "well qualified" compared to Harriet Miers who was STUPID and not comparable to Sotomayor.

25. Pat Buchanan believes that there is no way a Latino woman
earned her grades fair and square. Many of the Repugs that were questioning her over the last 3 days felt the same way.

Will Rachel have the courage to say no to any further appearances by Buchanan?

31. what happened on Rachel Maddow?

i missed what happened recently, but i definitely noticed some sort of a falling out between her and Pat months ago. when she just started her new show about a year ago, they were extremely friendly, were laughing together all the time, and she always referred to him as "my friend Pat" and even called him her "uncle". then, months later, all of it came to a screeching halt (but i never figured out what exactly triggered that falling out... probably, his being a right-wing bigot?? :P )

I for one want Pat Buchanan to be the face of the Republican party, old white racist men. Everytime that hateful little man opens his mouth he brings votes over to our side. Give him his own show I say.
