There are three Republicans...
1. The Pat Buchanan type who are not only racist, but openly racist.

2. The closeted racist. They'll cry about affirmative action and then spew bile when you accuse them of racism.

3. The non-racist who silently condones racism. This might include a majority of Republicans, but they're no better.

They're no better because they don't do a damn thing to lower the racist rhetoric of their own party.

Sure, they might throw up a token black guy to prove they're not racist, but that just makes it worse.

Like when someone has to play the I have a black friend card.

Yeah, sure you do.

2. Like who?

Give me a list of vocal Republicans who are prominent in their party that have come out against the blatant racism their party has pushed.

The fact is, most fall into the 3rd category and while they might not be racist, their support of racism in the party -- even if indirectly -- speaks fairly loudly.

3. I agree...
...I know Republicans that are not racist in the slightest.

4. You obviously didn't read my thread then.
Or you would have seen I didn't claim all Republicans were racist.

There is a group of non-racist Republicans who silently condone their party's racism. As I said in my post, they probably make up the largest number of racist Republicans.

But they're silent toward their party's racism.

To me, that's just as bad as being a racist.

5. On the basis of what we have seen for at least the last 8 years
they are all enablers ... they are complicit with the racism...in the same manner that the getaway driver is guilty of felony murder if one of his associates shoots a bank guard.

note the lack of a sarcasm thingee.

6. I would like to meet a Republican that is not racist,
name me a prominent Republican that hasn't shown any signs of racism.

7. Or at least one Republican who has come out hard against his/her's party racism.
Even the moderate Republicans from the NE, like Snowe and Collins, haven't rebuked their party's racism.
