So much to do, and so little time!
Well, Thank you for what you have done thus far.
It ain't been perfect, and it ain't been easy,
and you haven't pleased everyone just yet (nor will you ever),
but just keep on trucking,
as I and many other Americans look forward to much, much more.

Again, thank you for your service! :patriot:

He beat Hitler from a Wheel Chair and gave us Social Security.

21. I don't see what his wheel chair had to do with commanding armies.
Social Security is good, but it does not remove foul deeds.

"soldiers were needed at the front not trying to prevent lynchings, the internment was leadership"

If right wingers started lynching gay people would you support rounding up gay people, taking away their property, placing them into camps, and shooting at them if they tried to leave?

27. No, I want more LBJ (minus the whole Vietnam thing) and less FDR.
FDR, for all his stature in the halls of the Democratic Party Hall of Fame, was not a man who spent political capital liberally. That's why he was so reluctant to act on anything concerning civil rights--the Democrats in the South held his domestic agenda by the testicles and would crush it if he so much as shit the wrong way on the pot.

What I want is an LBJ-type negotiator--someone who will sit down in a room with the Blue Dogs and say "Either you support me on this or I will personally campaign for your primary opponents next election cycle--and I'm very, very popular right now. Your move, chuckles."

He shamed, threatened, cajoled, and intimidated people into supporting his agenda. For the elements of the Great Society, this worked very well (no one bring up Vietnam, I know, I know).

40. Yes, well you're a polarizing figure at DU which is why the number of
recs is so low.

Your poll results, therefore, have to be thrown out the window.

45. I'm not polarizing, I'm just frustrating to some....guess they don't like my arguments,
as they make too much sense and are hard to rebut mainly....
makes it easier to just demonize me on a personal level....
right?

Funny how that works.

As for why the recs are so low, if folks rec based on who's posting,
then more power to them....after all power is hard to get in life...
and some folks need every bit they can muster, just to be able to go on with their day.

44. Just now getting his legs under him.
He walked into a building on fire, a real five-alarm job, and at least things are starting to come under control.

The fires are slowly getting put out, one by one. The naysayers are getting more desperate in their rhetoric as they see his policies starting to take effect, and it angers them.

Fuck the haters, FrenchieCat, in a year they'll be laughed at by everyone.
