Sarah Palin: Praying for Captured Soldier; we have not defeated terrorism
Excerpt:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Gov. Sarah Palin says she is praying for the Fort Richardson soldier who has been captured in Afghanistan.

In a statement Sunday, Palin said the capture of Pfc. Bowe R. Bergdahl "and the bombing in Jakarta prove that we have not defeated terrorism, and that radical extremists will stop at nothing to attack Westerners and our ideals."

Bergdahl is a 23-year-old from Hailey, Idaho. When he was taken earlier this month he was at a base near the border with Pakistan in an area known to be a Taliban stronghold. He had been in Afghanistan five months.

The video shown on the Internet shows him eating and saying he fears never going home again.

9. I'll admit it...
...I'm not praying. I fail to see how that will help him.

3. I don't think anyone has made
a claim that terrorism has been defeated so who she is offering proof to is certainly in question.

Her statement really doesn't say much more than the standard talking points.

I am not impressed.

4. The idea of a TACTIC is way too furiegn to her
that is the reality.

Oh and I wanna bet that after all the crap we have done... over the last eight years... his captors will be textbook examples of how you treat a POW. Except the going public with video I will not be too shocked if the ICRC gets visitation rights soon.

In a propaganda war, and this is an element of this, that would be a coup and weaken western resolve.

Yep, who is the criminal now?

7. Sarah Palin is just using this for propaganda. She is worse than
the terrorists because supposedly she is American. She should STFU and allow our current Administration to resolve this matter. If she wants to pray like all the rest of us, she should do it and not announce it to the world to promote herself.

11. Okay, cynical again here!
So why do I think that Sarah cares more about getting her name in the press than she does about the soldier who is being held captive? She's certainly no expert on foreign policy!

That said - I (and many other DU'ers, I'm sure) have been thinking about the young soldier and hoping for his safe return.
