What needs to happen now is to finish the GOP off for good |

like a sick animal wouldn't it be kinder to put them to sleep now? Democrats don't seem to want to get rid of them? I wish the Greens were in opposition.

1. Yeah, baby--step out of the way as they destroy themselves in 2010 |

attached like suckers to the dinosaur of their dead ideology.
They can't change. They will disappear.

And surely they are doing that right now.

4. It isnt important if the GOP lives or dies |
|
Its the pro-corporate conservatives that needs to be rooted out of office.
Its not like our own party doesnt have its share of the critters.

We need to get rid of them as fast was we can, on both sides. We can never get what is good for the "people" if we don't get rid of those who only do what is good for the corporations, and that is pretty much the leadership of both parties!

12. They are doing a remarkable job of suicide. |
|
I am just amazed at them. I think more revelations about "The Family" secretly controlling RW politics will certainly help to make the GOP into a minor league party. I doubt they will ever actually disappear, but who knows.....

13. Democrats absolutely need the Republicans and if the GOP died, Dems would immediately reinvent them |
|
Edited on Tue Jul-21-09 03:19 AM by kenny blankenship
They require the Republican presence as their default excuse for not doing what people elected them to do. The Republicans stopped us! The Republicans are meanies. We WANTED to do something about global warming but the Republicans wouldn't let us and now look what happened! The Republicans won't quit hitting us!
Probably nobody is more worried about the current state of the Republican Party and its evident death wish than the Democratic leadership.

17. Wait.. YOu want the Greens on our left? |
|
So the Dems become the party for the middle 60%.
You seem to be arguing for a zero-sum solution. We give up 15% of the uber left to gain 15% of the right wing?
Ummm ok go ahead and write a party platform that gets us there.

18. I've figured to get real reform in this country we'll need 80 Dems in the Senate. |
|
The extra 20 is to compensate for lack of spine among the rest.

19. The Greens in the U.S. are marginal. |
|
There are some very good folks in the U.S. Greens but they are not influential, or are only marginally influential.
The Republicans are at task finishing themselves off. We're hardly having to lift a finger.
