When the Pubs get all misty eyed over Reagan, they really date themselves

Republicans like Newt and Joe Scarborough and Rush Limbaugh are like the alcohol and nostalgia fueled alumni at the frat house recalling the last time Old Fart U won the conference.

1. Too bad they didn't have high school Reagan jackets with 1984 on them.

2. They're like BYU fans reliving their 1984 national championship.

Same time frame and neither have been able to replicate that type of success again.

On the flip side, their rival (Utah for BYU, Dems for the Repubs), have seen a resurgence.

4. Things were great when ol' Dutch was running things alright, while the Iran- Iraq

war raged on, gas was $.80 a gallon. Any brain dead bastard could (and did) have made it work for a couple of years on that basis. Unsustainable? Nobody cared at that moment.
