Lou Dobbs and the canard over President Obama's birth

Conspiracy theorists and right wing nut jobs continue to be humored by the main stream media regarding Obama's citizenship. The latest, from Lou Dobbs, probably reflects his obsession with immigration.

Some conspiracy theories, like faking the moon landings or FEMA internment camps just won't go away.

Lou Dobbs had David from Freeport, N.Y., on the line, the caller musing darkly about President Obama "rushing all these programs through by whatever means," knowing he will soon be exposed as a fake, a fraud, a . . . Kenyan.

Instead, Dobbs chose the maximum complicity-minimum integrity route, or (D): "Certainly your view can't be discounted," the host said

Dobbs and the others found a nominal "news" peg for the story last week when the U.S. Army allowed a reserve major, Stefan F. Cook, to reverse his voluntary deployment to Afghanistan. Cook proclaimed his orders invalid because, he insisted, his commander in chief wasn't born in the U.S.

But Obama has presented his birth certificate, as first noted by the nonpartisan FactCheck.org in June of last year....Just last month, the Hawaii Department of Health confirmed to the Honolulu Star-Bulletin that the document is the only official record of the president's birth and proves he was born in that state.

1. What horseshit. Nutty views are routinely discounted by people who care about truth.

If David from Freeport had asserted that Obama would be exposed as something else far out like a space alien or leprechaun, I doubt Dobbs would have been so charitable because space alien and leprechaun don't support Dobbs' bigoted agenda. In fact, David from Freeport would have gotten a *click* instead of a "Certainly your view can't be discounted."

2. Some body should ask the Mormons what they think they did the Obama family genealogy.

They look at birth, marriage & death documents all the time.

5. Heck, knowing the Mormons, they probably had somebody go and actually

visually inspect the original birth record in HI (they would NOT have been able to obtain a copy of any sort due to identity theft concerns, but I think originals can be viewed).
