10. He knows as much if not more about health care than anyone
I've ever heard. He must be like a sponge, absorbing just about everything.

16. have you ever noticed how he is so much clearer with explaining things than the press
does when they try to spin it? Like Howard Fineman for example...sheesh...:eyes: I get exhausted just listening...

19. Well, that's why I voted for him, among many other reasons.
I do question these talking heads. They seem like they have to come up with negatives always, and you're right, they're not often capable of on-the-spot credible analysis, especially on the fly.

and didn't just listen to the spin. If they did, they saw a clear presentation of where we are on health insurance reform.

and I'm sure one of those is my rwing BIL :eyes: that is if he listened. He usually chooses to listen to the spin rather than learn the facts.

21. I also hope alot of folks watched him. I watched it on C-span and
they took calls after it was over. It was mixed, but still have a few idiots out there that don't listen well. One guy was mad because the president would limit him to only one test. He wants lots of tests. He also complained that this medical board they are creating would be the ones making the decision as to whether is Mother on medicare could stay on it or just be left to die. Can't get through to all the idiots. But I have a sense that he reached alot of folks who have a better idea what this reform is all about. I hope it kicks his polls up.

what he said sunk in and will make a difference. He is working hard to push this over the top and to dispel the Republican spin.

27. Watching this again, doubly impressed. Saw McMahon o Ed Show explaing why Obama performed exactly as
he should have, considering stage of the legislative process (admin will weigh in when necessary later) and to give cover for newly elected in conservative districts. We need them all.

As hubby said, Obama should never lose his cool in this venue.

For that reason I'm guessing the rush to work through recess may send 'hasty' signal. Durbin wasn't interested in pushing it. We better go crazy serious about health care with our electeds when they're home.

28. MSNBC out to scuttle Obama & Health Care Reform.
Man oh man - Watching Tweety, Howard, and the usual suspects perform their echo chamber circle jerk was just astounding. I'm pretty sure their script was loaded into the teleprompter long before Obama stepped in front of the cameras tonight. Boy, I thought politicians have big egos - and they do but these TV celebrities really think they are all that. They are in fact - insipid, irrelevant, and full of shit.

The President of the United States in comparison was on his game.

29. I'm glad I read this on DU. I'm deleting the after shows from my DVR.
I recorded the press conference & everything afterward. I'll be watching the president's part tomorrow and deleting the rest.

Thanks to all from DU for the heads-up about the complete waste of airtime that followed.

The vultures are really out to kill healthcare reform, aren't they?

30. Really? I haven't seen his presser yet.
But I did catch Chris Matthews and Lou Dobbs. To hear them tell it, the President was subdued. And he stepped on his own message.

I'm so glad it was better than they're reporting.
