Liar Liar Pants on Fire - Chris Matthews throwing another slam against Obama
Talking about increasing tax rate or something on families with income of $1 million or more. Obama breaking his promise of not increasing taxes for everyone. Last I knew it was for families with income of more than $250,000.

3. If Chris is saying that then he's lying.
Obama told us time and time again: "If you make less than 250K a year YOU WILL NOT SEE A DIME IN TAX INCREASES." That's what he said.

6. Wish they would put Chris out to pasture and bring in in a Hartmann
or somesuch. I have been watching Matthews for @ 5 years now and he is the most inconsistent person I have ever seen.

17. Hartmann is not impressed with the public option
he'd prefer single payer. Though it would nice to have someone on TV saying that.

8. I wonder if liberal sports people, celebrities, movie stars, and business people
Could get together and make a commercial saying that they make more then a million a year, and want an increase for them and others that make over a million a year, for people to have health care that does not pull out the rug after people get sick. Then list the people in government and their wealth, and detonators wealth, that are opposing that part of the bill.

They could show their luxury houses and cars, and say they want a higher tax for millionairs for peoples health.

I have seen many rich liberals say they should be taxed more. Anyone think that commercial would work?

Clinton. Chris is being a downer tonight. I think he's "sensitive" about white policemen because HE was one (he just said). He sides with Pat on these things. :eyes:

11. O was specfic about a family of four, so $250K each. Don't they realize
this is a legislative process, as O said. Sorry the media can't diss this before even passed out of committee; getting out of committee as a first step is critical and too early to judge.

14. Another Tweety hatchet job.
That blow hard is so predictable. I'm sure he got up this morning knowing he was going to try to take our President down a peg no matter what happened at the presser.

16. I thought it was $250,000 for a single and closer to $500,000 for a family
Though Pelosi has said those limits might be raised.

On the other hand, it has also been floated that the income limits for qualifying for any subsidies may be lowered.

Currently (in the House bill), the limits are $43,000 for a single and $88,000 for a family of 4 (this is 4x the poverty rate). Remember that's gross income. And, if you're single and you earn $43,100 and you get sick, you will be looking at at least another $5,000 out of pocket (plus whatever your premium costs) and a family can have out of pocket expenses of, $10,000. Those amounts don't sound all that affordable to me and at those rates people just a little over the income limits will still have to worry about how they will pay for a trip to the doctor.

The "public option" sounds just as bad as a lot of the private plans.
