No vote before August recess is the final nail in the coffin of healthcare reform |
|
August recess is where legislation curls up and dies. And everyone in D.C. knows it. The chance of passing real healthcare reform with a viable public option that truly serves the people, is virtually gone. Did it ever stand a chance? I don't know, but I expect nothing decent in the way of reform now.

2. Maybe not, but it is likely it is the final nail for any meaningful healthcare reform. |
|
Sad because real healthcare reform would have been a legacy for Obama. My fear is that his will become the "what might have been" administration.

seriously what will kill it over the recess? I think something this big should be debated without deadlines. Healthcare reaches into every home in the nation in a way few things do.
Reform is a meaningless word, we should stop using it at once. For this to work Obama has to say clearly what the health care system will look like AFTER being fixed. The vagueness of that vision is what will kill it, now or next fall.
