Why does no vote before recess mean its dead?
It seems like giving up pretty easily to think that.
I think the public pressure driving it will still be there, maybe even stronger, will still be there in September and beyond.
The recess handled properly could be the chance to sell it directly to the nation the president needs.

1. Because it gives the opposition enough time to organize to better pepetuate their lies.

4. It's hard to deflate a lie once you scare somebody. It gives them enough doubt. You don't want to
spend the next months responding to lies. They will just throw tons of shit up there and all you can do is rebutt.

Here is something I found to be very helpful in laying out the stakes: http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/06/healthcare_market_characterized_by_consolidation_n.php?ref=fpblg

5. It gives the opposition plenty of time to propagandize against it
And we know how good Democrats are at countering right-wing propaganda.

6. mean what is dead? Do you mean HR3200? Or do you mean the HELP committee
bill which is to be merged with the Finance committe bill once Finance gets off it's ass and produces their bill?

Or do you mean the notion, the idea, of health care reform?

Because their are about 350 million different notions about health care reform.

However, the House Energy & Commerce Committee is scheduled to vote today on an amendment to HR3200 that would create a single payer system, so perhaps you should get involved and help get it passed.
