Per MSNBC: Obama regrets commenting on the Gates issue |
|
Per MSNBC, Robert Gibbs has released a statement from the white house that PBO regrets commenting on the Gates issue at the press conference. He did not anticipate the distraction his remark caused. Gibbs went on to say further that PBO will have nothing else to say on the matter.
Looks like I won the bet, Bloo. :)
Oh and also those of you who thought Obama should've remembered his place...this is a happy day for you too.

1. Nope. Obama said he is sorry the comment distracted the media, not that he's sorry he made it. |

..... here's a better description of what Gibbs said this morning..... Asked if POTUS regrets weighing in on the Gates arrest, Gibbs jabs the media, saying he may not have "realized how much of an overall obsession and distraction it would be" in the press.
POTUS hasn't reached out to Gates or the officer involved. "I think he's said what he's going to say on this," Gibbs said. http://www.politico.com/politico44/wbarchive/whiteboard07242009.html

7. The snivelling little shits from the PD are crying all over MSNBC even as we speak |
|
Just remember that the police are not there to protect you, they are there to protect the property of the rich.
Which is what these idiots were doing at Gates' home until he acted all uppity and stuff.
Then they acted like every other little dicked power junkie I've ever known.

took turns at the microphone sharing how hurt they were at the offensive statement by the Prez....
Big pink babies snivelling for the cameras, attacked for doing nothing wrong by the big mean dark president.
I am completely disgusted with their little charade.

29. Obama raised the ante on something they thought would disappear, then Gates talked lawsuit and |
|
Crowley countersuit, now the union and the charade. Never admit wrongdoing in the slightest.
Soon every GOP leaning PD, with full governmental health care and benefits will feel slighted. All with glee from the media, who are tired of depressing policy anyway.

told the arresting officer not to say a damn thing, but the unions where all calling for an apology from the President and the Governor though, this is gross disrespect in my opinion.

36. Large Penis = Good, Small Penis = Bad! |
|
Anyone with < 6 to 7 inches should be imprisoned, or maybe euthanized, because they are inevitably antisocial!
Conversely, those carrying a big package are inherently good because life treats them well and they don't suffer from feelings of inadequacy!
Did I get that right?
(Yes, I admit it! I'm not a "big prick!")

there is a HUGE difference in believing Obama spoke without fully thinking through his comments (as PROVEN in later WH statements) and thinking he "should've remembered his place".
A HUGE difference.

|
Edited on Fri Jul-24-09 11:59 AM by CakeGrrl
for WHAT he said, and he did not apologize to the officer.
He said he regretted the distraction his words caused.
He did not change his opinion.
In the meantime, I love how this has made these fools overplay their reaction. When it comes to comments from the President, some people go out of their way to disprove or oppose him, and it's usually to their detriment. Serves 'em right.
