I absolutely look forward to following the Palin campaign in Iowa in 2011-12 |
|
It would be the FUNNIEST campaign to follow. Here me out.
She will be perhaps running against at least four governors or former governors: Rommney, Jindal, Huckabee and Crist. All of these guys are hardcore Right-wing Christians and/or act like ones on TV or act as though they believe the same nonsense.
If she is in any way a frontrunner in the race, she will be completely obliterated as a "quitter" and one who couldn't even finish her first term as governor. Worse yet, by then, she will be absolutely the wrong person to campaign with a candidate running on gubernatorial street cred.
So, if she does run, it would be a blast to watch her campaign skid into the blizzard snow piles. It would be a hoot to watch her stumble through a speech and when she is attacked for being a quitter by her fellow Republican candidates, it would be precious watching her whine about how it's all "not fair".
Knowing how Iowa is, you could get a ringside seat to this sideshow easily. You might have to act like you support her to get in, but the laughs and memories of this political disaster would be well worth the trouble.
See you there!

1. As an Iowan I am surely excited |

what a batch of fucking losers with moose shit at the head. The only problem is that republican appearances are spooky happenings with prayers and national anthems etc.

2. A page from the Nixon playbook? |

Even David Frum thinks she is full of shit regarding the Nixon speech in 1962 saying they "wouldn't kick Nixon around anymore". He also thinks she is damaging the Republican party...
The usual "the media is out to get me"... "they're going to take away or guns"... "look out for big government"...
Please, Sarah, run! You will get squashed, but it will be fun watching it happen ringside.

3. I know it's early, but DUers can stay at my home in Madison and we'd drive to Iowa |

Dubuque is about an hour and change away from Madison. It would be a pretty easy ride to there for a Palin speech. We could get extra laughs cheering the other asshats and then ask them goofy questions in the Q&A.
Believe me... this shit would be fun! I've had 17 people stay at my house before in the middle of winter, so it could be done.
