Clinton further rules out presidential run

WASHINGTON - There is apparently no such thing as a simple yes or no when it comes to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and questions about another run for the White House.

Clinton, 61, seemed to go further yesterday than she had previously in shutting the door to another presidential campaign, after her defeat for the Democratic nomination last year by President Obama.

“Well, you know, I say no, never, you know, not at all. I don’t know what, what else to say,’’ Clinton said on NBC’s “Meet the Press’’ after host David Gregory noted that she left some wiggle room in an interview last week in Thailand.

But then Gregory followed up by asking, “Are you saying you wouldn’t entertain another run?’’

Clinton’s response was less clear: “I have absolutely no belief in my mind that that is going to happen, that I have any interest in it happening. You know, as I said, I, I am so focused on what I’m doing.’’

In the Thai interview, Clinton said, “I don’t know, but I doubt very much that anything like that will ever be part of my life.’’

6. What does anyone expect the woman to say?

First of all, Obama has been in office only 6 months. It would be poor form for someone in his cabinet to already be seeking to be his successor. Second, who the hell knows how they will feel about anything 7 1/2 years in advance??? Heck, I'm not even sure what I want to have for dinner tonight!!!

I believe, as of now, she doesn't see it happening. As we approach the 2016 election, maybe she'll decide she's up for another run. Nobody knows what the world will be like 2016, including her.

I find it annoying that they continually ask her the question. They're looking for soundbite news while interviewing the SOS, to me they're marginalizing the importance of the job she has NOW.
