Something I would like to see -- a short rant
I just finished plowing through dozens (it seems) of health care threads here. I think I'm finally at my boiling point on this issue. So here goes...

What would happen if someone (say, Dennis Kucinich, perhaps) stood up and introduced a resolution saying that, until Congress comes up with and passes a fair, equitable, and comprehensive health care plan, the health care system currently in effect for the U.S. Government would be suspended?

What is good for some should be good for all. I'm sick and tired of hearing politicians say that THEY want US to have the same type of care they have. Given that WE don't have that, then it's time that THEY share OUR pain. Otherwise, stop with the pandering and patronizing bullshit.

I know what would happen -- jack shit. So what else is new?

1. They would vote no and even if they didn't
their insurance buddies would make sure the Senate didn't have to spend a penny of their personal millions on their own health care.

2. Oh, I know it wouldn't fly,
But at least this resolution (unlike some others that have been introduced lately) would be somewhat grounded in reality and relevance.

4. No way....
The Dems can't even make everyone stick around for the month of August for something this important. They can't even use the excuse of a campaign where they would need to be home beating the bushes for votes.

It looks like another case of herding cats.
