Rahm & The Blue Dogs - Pure BS.
Rahm promised HIS Blue Dogs not to BULLY them?

1. The Blue Dogs caucus was established in 1995. They have been there in significant numbers since then, whatever the successes of 2006 and 2008.
2. A promise by Rahm not to Strong Arm anyone is laughable. It's what the man is famous for.
3. Blue Dog districts are purple to red. The alternative is most cases in not a progressive, it's an conservative Republican: someone who is only too willing to brand his or her opponent a flaming liberal, with every hot button issue under the sun, in any election.

2. #3... On this issue they might as well be Republicans
The Republicans will always beat them up for being a Democrat no matter how they vote.

3. You know what, if you can't get a Democrat to stand up for Democratic
principles like labor and social programs for everyone, then having a Republican in their place isn't a bit different. You might as well have the Republican. Democrats need to hold up their principles no matter how red their district is. If people start seeing an improvement in their lives as a direct result of the work their Congress person has done, like decent health care for instance, they will vote for that person, no matter how conservative they might be otherwise. I have seen it happen in the various districts that I have lived in.

14. The only good that Blue Dogs do is raise the headcount of Dems to reach majority status.

6. People are taking issue with his actions
during his tenure as the head of the DCCC. He was not working at Obama's behest then, and he did in fact shun several progressive Democratic candidates for "safer," more conservative choices. He was also one of the most ardent critics of Dean's 50 state strategy.

13. My only problem with any Blue dog is with Senate Blue dogs
The only thing I want them to get in line for is cloture.

Eveyrhting else, let 'em vote how they must. All we need them for is in the Senate on Cloture, nothing else.
