Mexican-born? Yes, you read that correctly. Mr. Dobbs is NOT, as it turns out, a legal US citizen.

Dobbs' biography has always been sketchy when it comes to place of birth-- some sources claim he was born in Childress, Texas, while others cite Rupert, Idaho. Neither "fact" turns out to be the truth.

Louis Dobbs was born in Delicias, Chihuahua-- MEXICO-- and was later smuggled into the United States by Texas Propane Salesman Frank Dobbs, who kept the truth of his son's south-of-the-border origins a secret, even from little Lou himself, who only learned about his Mexican birth in adolescence, and who would spend the rest of his adult life desperately trying to cover up the truth.
His fake Texas birth certificate contains all the right details, but a closer examination reveals a subtle, almost inexplicable hint revealing his true place of birth...

This is funny stuff - "The Birther Movement-- or BM, as it's called for short" and "the BM is spreading - ALL ACROSS AMERICA!!" It probably isn't true, but it's more convincing than the "real" birther crap and I truly want it to be for real.

His father spent his spare time as part of the security detail for Leon Trotsky. It was Dobbs who went to the bathroom that allowed Ramon Mercader to enter the study of Trotsky.

Ask Lou Dobbs where his father was on August 20th, 1940 and watch him squirm.

5. This is very interesting stuff

After reading your post I looked up Trotsky and Farrell Dobbs. What a story. I would never have believed that Lou was from this background. Can you recommend a book on this subject? Plus I can't believe that Trotsky had a fling with Frita Kahlo.

Farrell Dobbs was in prison 1944-45 (Lou was born Sept 1945). Wikipedia shows Lou Dobbs' father as a "Frank" Dobbs, a co-owner of a propane business. Unless Lou Dobbs wrote his and Farrell's biographies on Wikipedia.

The story about "Frank" is the cover story to try and repair Dobbs geneology.

Dobbs met the Russian revolutionary leader Leon Trotsky when he visited Mexico shortly before Trotsky's death in 1940.

And I was actually born in Indonesia. Glad I've never considered running for president. Though perhaps as a white guy, I'd not have gotten the same crap that rumors about Obama have been.

And what if McCain had even the slightest amount of black or hispanic blood in his genetics. Makes you wonder if there would be a set of birthers really going after him. Then again, he'd probably not be the senator, etc. he is today if he were of that background.

8. I'm not saying he was born in Mexico

I just think it's important we stop allowing people who MAY have been born in Mexico from hosting his show. This would be a clear conflict of interest. At the end of the day, all we really have is his word, and while I'm not saying his word is suspect, I am saying his word MAY be suspect because he uses so many words all the time.

his many mistresses. He got shipped to Argentina after the war, and then to the US. They had hoped HE would grow up to be president and pull off that "Ivan" thing, but it didn't quite work out.
