President, policemen, prof sit down over a cold beer

It could be the most anticipated beer selection in U.S. history: Which brew will President Barack Obama, Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Cambridge police Sgt. James Crowley drink when they meet on Thursday at the White House?

Obama drinks Budweiser and Crowley drinks Blue Moon from {Adolf} Coors.

Gates is a fan of Red Stripe from Jamaica and Beck's from Germany and neither are available at the White House, which only stocks American beers.

So what beer should they enjoy while they discuss the recent events that started in Cambridge and made national news?

6. There was a time when amercian beers fell flat...

but the microbrew industry here has changed all that and the US produces some of the best beers in the world. Requires some looking and tasting, but the choices and quality from small brewers is amazing. No need to look overseas anymore for a beer that has taste, there are some great options brewed right here.

Bud still has a place however - crab steaming water.

Crowley is going to say something stupid and incriminating in the first five minutes. Obama and Gates will give each other a look of silent understanding, then precede to talk over his head the remainder of the conversation, with Crowley occasionally interjecting comments such as "my cat's breath smells like cat food." Then, being gentlemen, Gates and Obama will declare the event a success.
