Have You Visited The White House Website Lately - Check Out #1 On Their Home Page......

at this link: http://www.whitehouse.gov/

It's about "HEALTH INSURANCE REFORM"

click on this link for an explanation: http://www.whitehouse.gov/health-insurance-consumer-protections/

Hmmmmm......

What happened to "HEALTHCARE REFORM"?

What happened to a "STRONG PUBLIC OPTION"?

I'm on hold with the WH Comment Line: 1-202-456-1111 right now. All volunteers are busy. I wonder why?

This is just crap - it looks like the rug has been pulled out from under us on a Public Option. They caved to Big Insurance and the Repugs.

Eight Reasons to Pass Health-Care Reform
Barack Obama is going on the road today with a retooled pitch for health-care reform. In particular, he's emphasizing how reform will help the rest of us. To dramatize this, the White House has come up with the eight guarantees that will be written into health care bill the president signs:

3. But With No Mention Of A "Strong Public Option".......
this will be a windfall for Big Insurance - we all have to have it and pay them for it - and they will have no incentive to lower their costs - because of no 'public option' to compete with them. Instead they will impose these rules on Big Insurance and the cost for them to cover those new rules will be borne out by them continuing to raise premiums. No incentive to lower costs - this is a boon for Big Insurance, Big Pharma and Big Medical Device.

This is bait and switch. It's not the "change" that I voted for.

I just got off the line with a WH Comment Line volunteer and she didn't know that the change was made on the WH website from Healthcare Reform to Health Insurance Reform.

It's line in the sand time!!!!!!

6. The consumer protections are only part of the reform.
It does not mean that this will be the entire reform package. As it says on the WH web page, the President is highlighting how reform will benefit not only the uninsured, but people who already have insurance as well.

4. Why don't you go read some goat entrails, or something?
Or take up astrology? Because apparently you can already tell more about what the White House means than the President's own statements just by reading things into their website.

Did you see mention in it about a "Strong Public Option"?

Look I supported Obama through campaigning and donations. I was down at Grant Park on Election Night. I went to an Inaugural Ball on Jan 20th.

I want to see this administration succeed just like most of us here do. But when I see something that is taking them down the wrong path or when I don't see or hear something that should be seen or heard - I'm going to call them on it.

In fact - I think that they want us to do that as it gives them ammunition and the confidence to do the things that they should be doing.

So 'no' I'm not going to go and read some goat entrails, or something. I'm not going to take up astrology - I'll leave that to Nancy Reagan - but I am going to go to the White House website and see what they stand for.

It's only been the last few days that I've heard them say "Insurance Reform" versus "Healthcare Reform". Something changed or is changing - and I want to know why. If it is that "Insurance Reform" resonates more with the American people and is less frightening than "Healthcare Reform" - I want them to tell me that. If it's because they are caving to Big Insurance and the Repugs - I'm going to voice my opinion about that.
