Today's RW talking point on the cash-for-clunkers program makes no sense (and water is wet).

Clearly, you can say this about 99.9% of their talking points, but this one seems incredibly lame. Apparently, the RW goon squad is out today pushing this "if the government can't administer this program, how can it manage healthcare" line.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the problem with CFC that it's TOO successful?

1. That reaction is 100% predictable for the party of "No".
The Repukes are in bigger trouble than I thought if this is all they've got.

3. Your Right - Too Successful - That's What They Are Worried About.....
if a "strong public option" is too successful everyone will switch from private insurers to the public option. We can't have that now. What would that mean? Millions more insured will be creating a bottleneck in all our health facilities around the country. Doctors will be overworked. There will be long waiting times to get in to see a doctor. See - we told you so - you'll have to wait to get care.

Of course you and I know that as this program kicks in millions that couldn't afford to see a doc or were afraid to see a doc worrying that they would later be saddled with a pre-existing condition will finally feel good about going and obtaining healthcare. There might be a bit of a backlog at the inception - but - ultimately that will even out and the program will be wildly successful. That's what the RW is worried about. How will they look in the eyes of the voters that they fought this successful program? Hmmmmm......

4. I look forward to the day when they shrink themselves and. . .
finally drown themselves in that bathtub of theirs.

I really, really, really look forward to that day.

5. Eventually, we will start saving on catastrophic and chronic illness because
people are better monitoring conditions and their general health.

The bottleneck problem now will be a savings gold mine down the road. Plus, if needed our potential productivity will also be increased. Short term and simplistic solutions to large problems is generally failure by design.

Also, you better bet your ass they are trying to talk down the cash for clunkers program, it is all but impossible for all but the most dim to see the stimulative effects. Though, I'd like to see a more pro-American bias to the effort and would even limit it to the Big 3 if I could get by with it. That way a chunk would roll right back to us with every job producing purchase.

6. Help?
Hey, I can't post because I forgot my old password and had to create a new login. :o(

But one of my nutcase relatives sent me this and I'd like to refute it. Can someone please direct me to the best place to get some help refuting this insanity? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

O...and be prepared for this new batch of craziness from the right...they never stop!

Anyway here is said lunacy:
