Actually you are all wrong.

Actually you are all wrong.

If Obama was determined by the United States Supreme Court to not be a natural born citizen and thus ineligible for President of the United States...then his election would be null and void.

Constitutionally speaking if a candidate is not constitutionally eligible for the office (even after the fact of election) than he never should have stood for office. Meaning all votes for that person would have to be voided as they are voting for a non-candidate.

The way our system works the President and Vice President run on te same ticket. Therefore, if Obama's candidacy and subsequent election were ruled null and void then all votes for Biden would be null and void as well.

And still others would argue that with all of the above being true. It would be up to the House and Senate to decide the election, even though the constitution only gives them that right in the event of a tie.

Most likely all of this would take years and years and years in court to settle. And in the mean time...it would most likely state to reason that under the Continuity of Government statutes until said presidency could be determined by the courts...the role of the vacated presidency would be filled by the Speaker and President Pro-Tem of the Senate until which time the courts could determine who legally should be the elected president.

<skip>

All of that said...in my opinion the worse that could ever be discovered is that Obama was born to an American woman outside the United States. Making him an American citizen by birth with question as to the definition of "natural born"...of which I firmly believe the SCOTUS would avoid all of the above issues and simply rule that the definition of "natural born" means that a person was either born on US soil AND/OR born to legal US citizens outside of the continental US yet still a citizen by birth. And Obama would remain president.

In the end, there is no other way around the idea that OBAMA IS A US CITIZEN...unless somehow you prove his mom wasnt his mom. And I believe the natural born clause of the constitution means exactly what I stated above...a person born to a US citizen and/or born on American soil. period.

Obama is a citizen END OF STORY
