"Waiting for Baucus..."
Baucus' Senate Finance Committee was supposed to finish their work and get a bill out of committee by July 4th.

Today is DAY 27 since Baucus could not get it done.

1. Here's the issue, either we can get meaningful reform
that will put a check on monopoly hidden pricing by the insurance / hospital sector.

Or we know every person that is in the way of meaningful reform, so they can be shown to be what they are to all voters. Notice that either way things work towards the needed reform.

A compromise that does nothing, or just makes things worse, does not accomplish anything but the need for stronger measures. It is sad though because it expands the areas that need to be fixed.

Think about it, if the 'representatives' of the people cave in to the few, and do not support the people, and if that includes all of the representatives, then they don't represent the people.

Do people understand, if the legislation fails, then 'representatives' will have to be changed. But here is the big problem, we already had a round of 'representatives' change, and that can only happen so many times, before the blame will go from those individuals to the system. And then the whole system would have to be 'changed'.

Don't people see that if it is not done correct now, it will be done correct later, if anything allowing the opportunity to get it correct now is an attempt at giving them a chance, trying to get it done without having to go to larger methods.

3. The bill could change in conference. That's why Lieberman made a point of saying yesterday on MSNBC
that 60 votes were needed to bring the bill to the floor for consideration.

He is a tool of the insurance companies, of course. He also opposes a public option.

Here's the video of Lieberman yesterday on Andrea Mitchell's show:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/32206207#32206207

She asked him about something Mike Enzi said--that he won't accept the deal from Finance (Baucus' Senate Finance Committee) unless he gets a commitment from the White House that this is the 'final deal.'

Lieberman: Ultimately he (Mike Enzi) and every Senator knows if they are worried about stuff being put in in a conference committee with the House, it takes 60 votes to take up a conference committee so everyone of us can block it, if there are some surprises in it that a lot of us don't like."
