Baucus says they won't have anything before the break. That's just pathetic. I was just listening to some Dem on NPR, sorry, didn't catch his name, but he said Republicans are ropa-doping the bill. He said that all but three are pretty much assured of voting against it anyway and he thought the Repubs on Finance were just footdragging to further obstruct the process.

1. I agree. Medicare was passed with 51 votes. Screw the Un-Patriotic Reps.

4. medicare was a disaster
as will be Obamacare if they don't take the proper time to prepare this plan. rushing a plan like this through congress without discussion is something Bush would do, and did do with the patriot act.

5. Sure, medicare is a disaster.. Try taking it away from your grandma over 65.
Bet she'll hit you with her cane if you suggest something like this. Unless, you forgot the sarcasm tag because you are soooo new.

If not, what do you like on your Pizza?

3. If all but three are assured of voting against it, Baucus is a bigger jerk than I thought
We do need a bill out of the committee because it will contain the piece on how to finance it. The only way this awful bill gets out of committee is if Democrats, actually against it vote for it. If they vote against it, they then slow the process down.

(Question: Can the Senate have no financing piece and the House piece be used for that?)

6. How do the Dems proceed w/o the Finance Committee?
I agree about the Republicans. They're not going to vote for the bill, anyway, even after it's watered down.
