Speaker Nancy Pelosi: 'Glory Days' Ending for US Health Insurers
(Go, Pelosi! She is tough as nails, and that's exactly what we need to pass real healthcare reform.)
Pelosi: 'glory days' ending for US health insurers

Fri Jul 31, 2009 3:08pm EDT

WASHINGTON, July 31 (Reuters) - U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Friday "the glory days are coming to an end" for the health insurance industry and predicted it will fail to stop healthcare overhaul legislation moving through Congress.

Speaking to reporters as the House prepared to go into a monthlong August recess, she cited the example of cancer patients who "will not have a cap on the benefits that they receive," if the current proposals are passed.

She said Democrats in August will counter the insurance industry's "shock and awe" campaign against healthcare reform and said the industry is "the biggest opponent of this passing with a public option in it." The House bill would include a government-run public insurance option to compete with private insurers. (Reporting by Jackie Frank; Editing by Eric Walsh)

1. They'll still have good days, but most of us just don't like being treated like 'glory holes'.

Thank you, Ms. Pelosi, for putting your foot down. Real change is needed, you're doing it, so the rest of us will do our part to help as well. Which means, more exercise and eating better.

2. so ends the glory days of good health care
except for congress of course, they will continue to get the best health care in the world even after they destroy the current system and replace it with a plan they have not even read yet.

5. The glory days of good health care are yet to come
when we have a single payer system for all then the glory days will begin.

We may not have that this year but I am confidant that we can get it before President Obama is done.

3. If I were the President:
I'd call in Speaker Pelosi and Spineless Harry and say the following:

"Madam Speaker, I need you to get me 218 votes in favor single-payer. Use any means at your disposal to do so. Take your time, just it get it done."

"Harry, I want you to pass that bill in the Senate. You tell those assclown Blue Dogs that if they fail to pass a strong public option, we're gonna ram home a single payer in reconciliation. So this is the best deal they'll get. I will remember whichever they decide to vote."

"Have a nice day and thanks for coming."

4. Thats why Obama wanted this to get done before August
Because he knows they are really going to fill the pockets of Congress in August. Sit back and follow the money.
