Note to Jon Stewart about the 1200 page health care bill |
|
I hope that down the road when specifics about the bill are called upon that you point out that all those pages contain them. Just because it's not a one sentence sound bite doesn't mean it's not necessary.

1. yeah. I thought that was a pretty retarded line of inquiry. |

They could accomplish a whole lot in a few pages by merely "incrementally" expanding Medicare. Why don't they? Whats with all the convoluted legislation? What are they really trying to accomplish, if affordable universal healthcare could be accomplished in a much more streamlined manner? For every 600 pages of stepping forward, are there going to be 600 pages of stepping back? It doesn't need to be that complicated. There is existing government infrastructure that can handle expanding access and affordability to healthcare.

4. you would think that. you don't know anything about legislating. |
|
modifying existing laws on the books, etc. it takes more effort than you and Jon Stewart are aware of, I guess. I've read software contracts between only two parties that were a hundred pages or more.

6. Hardly surprising that once again you focus on the negative. |
|
Do you like anything in the various bills? Any of the ideas? Anything?

I like the subsidization based on sliding scale to make premiums affordable (but only for those in the exchange).
If health care was all single-payer, this would be built in (tax code), being that it should primarily be funded via taxes.

5. Stewart was dissappointing in his constant questions about the size of the bill. |
|
At this point the last thing we need is more crtitism. There is plenty out there already.
I sure wish liberals in the media would help pitch in instead of pitch at. I don't remember the media pukes sniping at Bush's BS. Ever.
