The President returned to Elkhart, IN today. What has Evan Bayh done
to improve the conditions there? Does anyone know how he feels about health care reform? Anything?

Is he beloved for anything other than his dad?

1. I'm glad the Evan Bayh talk for VP was just a "head fake" by the Obama team.

5. He's definitely a dog
I don't know why his dad hasn't disowned him. He's a disgrace to the family name.

3. His feelings about health care? I think he feels pretty good that his wife
is employed (couple of million a year?) bringing down huge salary to undo everything that the Democratic Party and President Obama are doing.

I saw the move today as setting up the points to bring Presidential pressure on Bayh for the final bill.

Bayh is the most disgusting member of our caucus. I like Spector more than Bayh.

7. Yes he took Bayh with him, he then outlined every single program
that is benefiting Indiana (I think second only to Michigan in federal assistance) and then praised all of the politicians - including Bayh for being the team that delivered so much federal aid to Indiana.

12. Maybe he is personally lobbying Bayh on this,

Bayh has been the bluest blue dog there is this year. I have gotten over ever being surprised when he is one of 2 or 3 or only the sole Democrat voting with the Republicans.

(But, if you think of it, it would be a waste of Obama's time to go in MA or RI praising their Senators - he needs to win people like Bayh.)

Obama headed back to New Hampshire
@ 3:35 pm by Eric Zimmermann

President Obama is heading back to New Hampshire, a state he became intimately familiar with during his 2008 campaign.

Obama will host a townhall in Portsmouth next Tuesday, the White House announced today.

The subject of the townhall is still unclear, but it will undoubtedly focus on either healthcare reform or the economy. (Or both.)

Several of Obama's public events recently have taken place in swing states.

Today, for example, the President delivered a speech on the economy in Wakarusa, Indiana. And last week, he touted the effects of the stimulus package during an appearance in Raleigh, North Carolina. Both Indiana and North Carolina are Republican-leaning states that Obama barely carried in 2008.

6. Good. And the wife! I forgot about her involvement. He's so damned dirty,
which is why I wondered what the residents thought about him. I'm glad the prez included him.
