Recovery in Action...Then and Now
Recovery in Action

<...>

The relevant question is, Are we digging out faster thanks to the Recovery Act and our other economic policies? To that question, these independent analysts, and many others, unequivocally answer, "Yes."

Just take a look at some "then and now" indicators:

Then vs. Now

Real GDP (1).................... -6.4%......... -1.0%
Job Losses (2)................ -741,000..... -247,000

Home Prices (4) ................ -2.1% ........ 0.7%
New Home Sales (5) .......... -10.2% ........ 9.6%
Consumer Confidence (6)....... 37.4 .......... 54.1

1: Real annual growth rates, 2009q1 and 2009q2
2: Payroll employment declines from January 2009 and July 2009.
3: Monthly percent change, Jan 09 and July 09
4: Case-Schiller, monthly percent change, Jan 09 and June 09

1. But stimulus is "evil"...
...or so we were endlessly told by the parade of Republicans and other assorted Obama haters...

Nevermind, don't ever let facts get in the way of a firmly held belief...

Look over there at that shiny new health care ball thingy...let's beat Obama up over that now...

That's a huge achievement.

3. And the housing numbers are the important ones.....
.... per the first press briefing the President did in .... when was it? February? Someone asked would unemployment be the key figure to watch. He said, of course, that unemployment was a lagging indicator and that the first signs of the recovery would appear in the housing market.

Smart fella that Obama.

6. According to Bill Moyers, we can thank the GOP for this recovery.
Since, according to his assinine statement, they are runing the show in Washington. We'll need to make sure history gives them credit for everything else Obama has done this year:

1. Announcing withddrawal date for Iraq
2. Announcing the Gitmo will be closed, and searing for national prisons to house terrorists
3. Tuition tax credit of $2,500
4. Middle class tax cut
5. Stimulus package that has clearly helped stave off a depression
6. The nomination of Sonia Sotomayor
7. Since taking office, Obama has put under federal protection more than two million acres of wilderness, thousands of miles of river and a host of national trails and parks. The conservation effort - the largest in the last 15 years - came with the stroke of a pen when Obama signed the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 in late March.
8. Saved GM from bankruptcy and saved thousands of jobs.

and lots more!

LMAO

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

7. Did Moyers explicitly say that the Repubs are responsible for the recovery,
such as it is?

Genuine question. I can't keep up with all the latest twists every day.
