Would be so awesome to get that 200+ million on the National Mall again to get our voices heard. I'll be there....Will you?

4. I'm considering it.
Sept. 15 is a big deadline day for me, workwise. For a later date, I'd commit.

7. Will there be local demonstrations across the country as well?
I can't make it out to DC, but if there is a demonstration here in the Twin Cities I will be more than happy to attend. Hell if there is not already one scheduled I can talk to some of my friends about organizing one, but hopefully there is a well organized group with big plans already under way and that group is open to single payer advocates. I know that if it is my group organizing it that it will be a non-partisan event advocating for single payer, we would much prefer the administration's plan to nothing but we want to push the administration towards single payer rather than simply cheering them on.

9. If they want 200 million people, they should be better organized
Edited on Tue Sep-01-09 07:53 PM by Lydia Leftcoast
Even if the MSM won't cover it, there are all kinds of national organizations that have local connections and should be rallying their troops.

You can't just call a demonstration in a few non-mainstream media outlets and expect people to show up. The Million Man March worked through churches, mosques, and community organizations around the country.

Frankly, as we know from laughing at the Freepers' pathetic counter-demonstrations, it's better not to demonstrate than to have one that has a low turnout.
