I really do believe we need the public option for true health care reform to be achieved, however I am willing to listen to what alternatives the White House offers.

Lets continue to fight for the public option until we either achieve it or have a reason to accept compromise, lets hear Obama out (if he is truly not backing a public option).

It is amazing that we are on the verge of getting some reforms we would have never thought possible even four years ago, yet we are not happy.

1. Who hasn't been listening?
We need to take an active part in shaping reform, not a reactive part.

2. I can't get too agitated over a RUMOR from POLITICO -- which is funded by right wingers
If you ever get bored, look Politico up at wikipedia. I can't get over how popular it is a DU. The reporters that wrote the story are particularly good at innuendo and putting Democrats in the worst possible light.

I know few Democrats (on the left) who thought "insurance reform" was their main goal in reforming our health care system.

A nationalized health system has been the only goal so far as I can remember, which is completely the opposite of reforming the insurance industry and forcing people to buy insurance.

Im sure reforming insurance was a stated goal somewhere by some middle of the road Republican in Dem clothing, but its hardly the first thing most Democrats thought of when discussing how to improve our system and cover everyone.
