The President has barely been in office 8 months.
I don't understand why there are so many who already are writing his obituary. What is he, a corporation that has to show an improved bottom line each quarter?

What I am amused, though, is the furious attack on this

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x8622313

today I unsubscribed from mybarackobama.com email list: they asked for the reason

I said "complete failure"

but a whopping cheering on this

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x6449163

Howard Dean is waiting in the wings.

1. Some hate the president so much that they would cheer him
failing, so they could live under republican rule. Believe me, if this president fails, another democrat won't be taking his place.

13. And they do not understand that politics is the art of compromise
and that the problems that he - and us - are enormous. Two wars that depleted our funds; a recession that could have mushroomed into a Depression; health problems that continue to grow and where the opposition would rather see people dying in the street and, perhaps use it to win power, that reach some agreement.

Even the Wall Street Journal agrees that the stimulus is working

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x8620684

so what is there to criticize? That he did not just snap his fingers and everything just fell into place?

2. I'm with you.
I'm sure Dean will get 'er done with or without the help of the Senate. He'll write it, pass it, report it and sign it. And then we'll get what we want.

or something

5. And of course, the media would be kissing Dean's ass......all the way through
rather than whacking it, like they do Obama's....daily.

3. Might as well start the primaries, I guess.
Hell, at least the man was given 8 months.
We are so generous sometimes. :sarcasm:

But like another poster said, if Obama can't get it done,
not sure why someone thinks that those who couldn't even get elected,
could. Somewhat odd....almost like some would prefer we be out of power,
than to see this particular President succeed.

what is it because doesn't give you red meat rederick? Not telling the GOP to fuck off on a daily basis, becuase I get feeling that are oblivoius that doing that may play well here, but not with most people.

9. I want Obama to be a great president
so far, he is not. I've not given up hope yet, but obviously you must understand why some people are just not seeing the change we were promised. And Dean IS waiting in the wings. He promised not to run in '08 if he was allowed to run the DNC - which he did masterfully - but he never said anything about not running after that. We shall see what the future holds but Dean is and always will be waiting in the wings. I'm super liberal so I'd love Kucinich but Dean is good too. Still - I'm not going to completely write off Obama YET. I genuinely like the guy and wish him all the best.

He hasn't taken that much vacation! . . . oh . . . you meant, "The President has been in office barely 8 months." Yeh, that's better.

11. I have a theory: Dean has a lot of support around here and all those
who like him, like him a lot. 'Kinda like Bob Dylan. I like Bob Dylan, so I get it. Put Bob Dylan's name in a thread and I'm all over it....(not...I know everything and cringe at the idea of sharing with wanna-be's)

And as for the other...The furious attack in the first thread could have come from any one of us who sees an obvious disruptor at work. Unless, of course, some of that number happen to be discussing something totally irrelevant to what is really important. And then there are those of us battling assholes in other threads because we just can't fucking take it anymore!

...at least I care.

14. First of all..I'm trying to be funny, but generally mean everything I type
so I will try....I tend to get distracted from reasonable discussion by some of the trolls around here. Depends on the subject and tone but I fall for it everytime when it hits my weak spot. That's what I mean. Does that help?
