Poll question: I guess we need to do this again. Obama and public option: |
|
You get one vote, no posting the same thing over and over to make even the sky think it's falling.
Do you really think Obama is going to abandon the public option?

1. "Some nuanced shinola" |
|
...in which he will pay lip service to the public option, but refuse to take a stand.

2. Obama out-Machiavellied Hillary in the primaries and beat the GOP to get into office |
|
I think the GOP & blue dogs are playing checkers and he's playing chess, and he'll checkmate them after they've shot their load of corporate-bought bullshit.

8. Campaigning is not governing |
|
And as for the relentless chess verbiage, just once I'd like someone to explain the strategy before it goes down, rather than waiting to see the car crash and then retroactively explaining why it was all planned for insurance purposes and how the occupants will come out the richer for it.

5. I don't know if President Obama is going to abandon the public option, |
|
champion the public option, or champion something weak and call it a public option.
An interesting poll may be; "What would be your view of President Obama if we did or did not receive a public option?"
"I would be happy with him either way."
"I would be happy with him if we got a public option, but mad at him if we did not."
"I would be mad with him if we got a public option, but happy with him if we did not."
"I would be mad with him either way."
Something like the above, but perhaps a little more eloquent.

6. Wait, so only 7 DUers think he's going to abandon the public option outright? |
|
That's what I thought. Strut, fret. :)

7. I don't think Obama will be that crude and unsophisticated . |
|
He may try to sell some "nuanced shinola" as you put it and you might be first in line to buy it!
We'll find out this Wednesday if Obama clearly states that he won't sign a bill that doesn't contain a strong public insurance option available to everyone or if he'll lay out some vague "nuanced shinola" bull shit such as a "trigger" or co-ops or something even more slick that kills a viable public option.
What do you think or hope he'll do?
