Received a note home from son's school about the speech.
They are taping it and showing it during bus call in the afternoon. You can opt out by emailing the teacher.

2. How sad that we are living in a time when it is controversial
for children to watch the President give a speech encouraging them to do their best in school.

6. Definitely. I left teaching as a career many years ago.
I'm glad I did. This is insane.

7. I never thought I would see a day when schools censor the president.
gawd forbid he ever say, "Ask not what your country can do for you etc." It seems as if the nuts are the biggest bullies this country has ever seen. I have a very BAD feeling about where this is going to end. If the bullies are allowed to take over this country, sooner or later the bullied masses will rise up to throw off the oppressors. If Obama had continues to sit on his ass like bush did when told our country was under attack, the howling from the right would still be ringing from every knuckle-draggers mouth. I am sick to my stomach over the MESS that is the USA today. Honestly, what the hell do "they" think our legally elected president would say to harm thier precious little monsters.

9. We really are going to have to start kicking the nuts in the teeth if we want to perserve anything
It is getting to fight or die. Flight is a bandaid, there isn't anywhere far enough to run. We will have to fight back.

10. Thank you School Board. You must continue to keep precious little white girls safe from big . . .
Oh, wait, that was 40 years ago. My bad.

Who do these school boarders think they are? They are on the same level as the road crew foremen, politically speaking.

Another reason I do not cross the Tennessee or Ohio Rivers in any direction unless required. I like to stay in an island of semi-sanity bounded by Louisville and Huntsville, and centered in Nashville. Occasional trips to Atlanta and St. Louis or DC or NY for shopping or ballgames do not count.

11. We're missing the bigger picture
After watching the town hall meetings, the tea parties, and the crap spread on TV and the radio, they are worried the President wants to encourage the kids to learn and stay in school? Incredible.

Hell, the grown ups don't even know how to act. What are WE teaching them?
