Dear Mr. President: SCREW BIPARTISANSHIP!
I swear to what gods may be, if I hear one more member of your Administration using that word, invoking that long-fictitious concept, I will go batshit-crazier than Michele Bachmann's creepy younger sister!

The Republicans don't WANT health care reform, Mr. President! They are interested only in taking you down! GOP Senator Mike Enzi messed up and actually spoke truth a few days ago in Wyoming, revealing to all his party's attitude toward your vision of health care for everyone.

Guess what, sir? They don't like it!

And then you have the Beckerheads to contend with! I truly hope that your Secret Service agents are cream-of-the-crop, as the sight of armed individuals walking outside your speech venues, carrying signs in support of "liberty," its "tree," and the need to "refresh" it with the blood of "patriots" :puke: and "tyrants" does not exactly speak to me of reasoned disagreement!

Mr. President, you owe such people NOTHING! They have shown their stupidity, credulity, and yes, their racism to the entire country. Employ what is clearly your best---and only---option: The spectacularly-mismonikered "reconciliation" maneuver. Why not? It is, after all, the means by which your predecessor pushed through his tax cuts for the wealthy, and, as my mother used to say, one good---or bad---turn absolutely deserves another. There is a reason, sir, why the term "necessary evil" exists within the English language.

The time for singing Kumbaya is over, Mr. President: RECONCILE the GOP into the asphalt! Pass that public option! And when the likes of Karl Rove, O'Reilly, Hannity, Beckerhead, Malkin, Grassley and Palin spew their manufactured outrage, pay no mind.

The wingnuts are already familiar with the Dark Side, sir: They will never acknowledge such, but their mendacious asses will recognize, and grudgingly admire, deep inside their shriveled souls, the necessity of your "evil!"

1. Agree with all but one point...
If he does what you suggest (and, Gawd, I hope he does), it won't be a necessary evil. It will be righteous indignation. Let justice roll down like a mighty stream---and drown those sonsabitches called Republicans.

3. Never assume that "evil" can't be "good!"
Of COURSE Obama's thrashing of the "Youbetcha!" crowd will be for the good of the country! I just hope the hell that he REALIZES such!

2. They know the Republicans don't want any HCR. Negotiating with Republicans is just their ploy
to give away the store and have an excuse - the Republicans made us do it!

They don't need the Republicans, except as an excuse. Voters don't give a shit about "bipartisanship", and the numbers mean we only need Democrats to stick together to move Democratic legislation to a vote. But it hasn't been watered down enough yet, so "negotiations" continue. Only Nixon the Arch-anti-Communist could go to China: being the public figure with the strongest anti-Communist credentials gave him cover. Likewise, only Democrats can fuck over the American worker and have the cover to do it this hard and deep. If Republicans tried people would see it coming a mile away and revolt.

5. Republicans never for an instant intended to negociate in good faith on healthcare reform,
but they are more than willing to accept all of the compromises and concessions given to them as they all vote against healthcare reform. I have Republican friends who simply laugh at how stupid the Democrats are about this, but if this were a Republican issue and they were in power they would ram home their legislation and say to the Dems, "Get on board, or screw you!"

I wonder what part of all of this is so hard for the Democrats and Obama to grasp?

6. "Bipartisanship" has been just a convenient excuse to cover up the real problem...
he can't get his own party in line
