Hartmann was sooo right President Obama has to be FDR not Lincoln |

Apart from all the good points he made on how FDR called out Republicans on their obstructionism. The thing that most strikes me is all the talk of secession is following the path of Lincoln a dangerous road to read setting up a self fulfilling prophecy.President Obama has to follow the path of FDR for more reasons than one. The path of FDR more suits the situation we are in than following the path of a deeply divided union, it's wiser to follow the path of the President that broght the nation together, to take on an economic crisis.

1. I was thinking the same thing today |

I was watching some FDR speeches at YouTube and this is the type of leader we need now. Like FDR, Obama is very popular and a great communicator. He CAN bring about positive change, but the question is, WILL he?

2. I totally agree, he needs to channel more FDR |

Hartmann played the clips of FDR's speech during his re-election.
I don't know anyone who matched Tom in the way he educates his audience. I love his knowledge of our past presidents, especially those long before any of us were alive.

3. It doesn't seem to matter |

what path President Obama follows the M$M will characterize it as a mistake. Again, our greatest challenge is in media fairness. This is where we are being harmed.

4. FDR had the same things against him |

That is why the Hartmann segment was so enlightening.
FDR came in after 3 terms of Republican rule that did nothing for the little guy and everything for the companies.

5. FDR has been on mind too |

Having just finished reading "Before the Trumpet" I can't help but think that both Obama and Franklin are in the same spot. One think that saved Franklin's ass is that he grabbed his mandate and ran with it. That first hundred days was the3 key-but he had a Democratic Senate. The rethugs relentlessly attacked him also. After his first term he never got anything through the senate and the Supremes screwed him every chance they could until they went so far that they embarassed themselves and moderated a lot in the late thirties. While no two eras are identical substitute Faux news for Colonel McCormicks Tribune and its analogous. He will have to kick ass and take names to pull this one off-but I don't think he's rough and tumble enough to do it-and I'm hoping I'm wrong.
