The Saddest Bit About The Apologists For The Adminstration
Those of us who are pissed off that the public option is on the verge of being thrown under the bus WISH TO HELL THE APOLOGISTS ARE RIGHT!

1. Damn that Obama, he's such an apologist for his own plan.
Obama STILL wants a public option, just as he has from day one. Same deal with Congress.

The "apologists" are right because they listen to the words that actually come out of the mouths of the people who are fighting to give us the public option. The "apologists" do not listen to the media spin and take it as gospel.

He has constantly and consistently stated he is for a public option
As has Congress.

Nothing has changed, except your perception of reality.

8. now now, you know there's a faction of DUers that have been patiently biding their time to have an
excuse withdraw the support they never really had for him. this is their excuse du jour, let them enjoy themselves.

9. No, actually, he hasn't
He has danced around the issue time after time since it became a political hot potato.

He has yet since the recess to COMMIT to a public option.

Untiol he is 100% committed, it's on the verge of being thrown under the bus.

14. So which is it? You'll wait until you hear it come out of his mouth (video was posted here already)
or you need to hear it again because politico got your panties in a wad?

Any plan I sign must include an insurance exchange: a one-stop shopping marketplace where you can compare the benefits, cost and track records of a variety of plans - including a public option to increase competition and keep insurance companies honest - and choose what's best for your family.

15. The "dance" you speak of is entirely manufactured by the media and the insurance lobby
The President has been consistent in his support of the public option. His actual words represent 100% support.

THE MEDIA/GOP/CORPORATIONS ARE LYING TO YOU. Did you somehow miss the last 8 years of MSM bullshit?

2. Well....let us review what you just posted and it is not the first time....you state "on the verge"
well, if you truly believe this, what are you doing besides sitting here typing on DU? I for one am honestly tired of these "the sky is falling" threads..they accomplish nothing but fodder for the wing nuts and simply take up space, space that can be used for ops, posts and the like that actually say something of importance..

try it...you might enjoy having to actually take a bit more time in doing some research on your own so that you can contribute ops and or posts that can make a difference for our future not just add more "the sky is falling" bs , we get enough of that from the msm...

Why not do their job for them?

And I say this because you obviously seem to have the time...time most of us do not....

So instead of being part of the problem...why not prove your worth and be part of a solution...help give back.."we the people" the real power..power that has been shuffled so far out of our grasp that we even wonder if we ever had access to such..

I've called every member of the Progressive Congressional Caucus.

I've called all members of the Senate Finance Committee.

I've write a snail mail letter to my Senators weekly.

I have donated money (I don't really ahve, but I can skipo a couple of meals each week) to Move On and Act Blue.

23. The OP is whining and offensive, labeling people apologists because s/he anticipates the worst.
Then claims: "Those of us who are pissed off...WISH TO HELL THE APOLOGISTS ARE RIGHT!"

Friggin ludicrous.

13. So those of
us who refuse to buy into the media spin have graduated from worshippers of Obama to apologists? Or is that a step down, I'm not really sure.

The public option being thrown under the bus is the fucking media spin, the same media that tried to bring Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama both down yet now suddenly they're the be all end all.

Barack Obama has stated several times over that any bill presented him MUST contain a robust public option. You choosing not to listen to him and instead listen to the media isn't his fault nor the fault of the "apologists".

19. Apologists for the administration have the problem, not progressives
Edited on Fri Sep-04-09 11:50 AM by mix
who disagree with Obama. Progressive critics on this board, who argue in good faith and most do, have a larger perspective on politics than the apologists. For me, I see Obama as a member of a failing political class that includes both Republicans and Democrats. Compare the American political class of the 1930s and 40s with ours today to appreciate how inferior our present leaders are. They halted the Great Depression and defeated Nazism. Today's political class enriches corporations and Wall Street while fighting wars on behalf of Big Oil.

Apologists who lash out against any criticism of Obama either are comfortable with the status quo, as long as it has an attractive face, or are having a hard time facing the reality that Obama is actually prolonging many of the failed policies of the last 8 years in education and national security above all. I am willing to wait for the HCR speech to see if Obama does the right thing.

Apologist arguments against progressive critics of the administration take three flawed forms:

1) They argue that McCain would be worse. (who would argue with that?)
2) There has not been enough time yet. (see FDR's first 100 days)
3) You are just a rightwing troll who always hated Obama.

Weak.

I thought only Rethugs were so rigid in their thinking.
Almost everyone on here wants the same thing but go right ahead and lets do some more infighting because Rethugs love that.
