Republicans aren't scared that Obama will indoctrinate their children
They fear that he might un-indoctrinate them.

Republicans are threatened by any and everything having to do with facts:

The Media
Education
Science
History
Logic

As such they need to shield themselves, and their offspring, from the threat of reality

1. Yeah he's too sane and too rational for them to go on about the bogeyman.

2. I think they also fear that their kids will
like and respect him and enjoy the speech. Which will make it more difficult for the parents to brainwash them that the President is evil.

7. That's EXACTLY right!
they don't want their kids to know the truth, but one day they'll grow up and learn it and then they'll lose respect for their parents for lying to them all those years.

4. They don't want him legitimized in their children's eyes.
For young children, someone speaking to them in a school classroom, even by video, automatically gains some legitimacy and credibility.

The parents are trying to teach them hate and disrespect and they don't want anything that may override those messages.

9. I cannot imagine any teabaggin', birther, deather parent OK with a sneering knowitall little commie
living right under their roofs. They will lose total respect for their authority. They will understand how their parents have been functioning as the early roman catholic church. Sifting all the harmful bits out, so they remain submissive. Would YOU like your children to know that you are a fool? That you are flat earth, young earth, fuck earth STUPID? These same people send their kids to christian schools, colleges so as not to sully them with worldliness. And it makes them unable to navitage, like the amish that go for their season of adventuring. My sisters, both, are religious wingers. They cocooned their kids. They are reaping the benefits of that now. Their children are finding it very hard to adjust. Rebel, would be a MILD term for their pulling away from stupid rigidity.

12. Exactly!
If their kids get educated, they'll know what ignorant, gullible idiots their parents are.
