Poll question: How is President Obama doing?
The President has been catching a lot of criticism from progressives, and polls show his support among independents is weakening. DU seems to be choosing up sides. How deep are the faultlines?

2. I have some major issues, but I'm still hoping he gets it right.
Same as Bush when it comes to human rights (rendition, spying on Americans, stonewalling investigation of war crimes, Latin America as a whole, Afghanistan), disturbing trends on domestic policies including the promised universal health care.

3. Ask me again on Wednesday night.
I'll be able to give a more complete answer then. Right now though, I'm not very happy about the way Van Jones was treated. One of the few people in this administration who hasn't sold their soul to corporate America, and he gets thrown under bus, because a lunatic who even corporate America is sick of (Glenn BecKKK) doesn't like him.

6. Words are cheap. Deeds are the only thing that counts.
I think I will stick to foreign issues come Wednesday night and skip the GP meltdown.

4. Knowing what I know now, I would not have voted for him
To be clear I mean in terms of the Democratic nomination process...not the general election!

10. Fear of polls is rampant now?
Can't face being outnumbered once you've taken a strong position?

The all-round hysteria induced by unfettered speculatin' taking its toll on poor ole polls?

11. For me personally, it's..
"I'm disappointed about a couple of things, but I've got his back."

I'm not happy about Afghanistan, lack of bank regulation, education policy, inaction on gay rights issues, the lack of turnover in the Justice Department, civil rights issues, and caving in on some things like Van Jones. A little too much effort for bipartisanship.

But I'm behind him. I know how much damage the Repukes can do. The Repukes have inspired a wave of insanity in this country with their extremism.

If he doesn't get a public option through or it has triggers, my grade will be C+ for Obama so far. A weak public option, a B. If we get a strong public option, the grade stays at B+.

13. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have supported him in the primaries
He is anything but hope and change.

He's a throwback to the post 9/11 weak Democrat.

14. I'm getting more and more frustrated.
OF cOURSE I still strongly support him if the Pukes are the alternative.

But as we see more and more failure of will and weakness in leadership, I am feeling like this was our last best chance, and it is already well on its way to being blown.

so to speak,
