Baucus, the Chamberlain of the Senate...
In his efforts to seek a compromise with the obstinate gang of three republican senator that he so, in his mind, magnanimously elevated to equal footing by including them in his supra sub-committee, Baucus has potentially negotiated away the soul of Health Car Reform.

Like Chamberlain negotiating with the NAZI's, Baucus has appeased the clamorers from the right.

And like the NAZI's in 1939, the GOP is saying it is not enough.

Baucus is ready to negotiate away medical security for millions of American's in need just as Chamberlain negotiated away the freedom and security of the Czech people.

The lesson that is never learned is this; under no circumstance should you negotiate with anyone who is not willing to negotiate.

1. I would have said Quisling.
Chamberlain had good intentions, but was totally ineffective and weak. Quisling handed his country over to the Nazis.

2. I put 99% of the blame for this healthcare debacle on Baucus.
What the hell was he thinking when he chose 3 repukes and 3 Democrats to "negotiate" when he had a majority of Dems on his committee. Apparently he has no clue how to act when in the majority. I so hope that the next time he is up for re-election he will be voted out of a job. I can't stand that man!
