If I'm understandin' the President (who just came back from somewhere)
We will have a public option. This means reconciliatin, it has to.

I will have a few drinks tomorrow night to celebrate, and then send a donation to the President.

He is awesome, he's my President...

2. Yay!
I'll need to check out his address. Part of me is hoping he spanks Congress on Wednesday.

3. I'm embarrassed (but used to it) to ask -- could you please explain
reconciliation to me? I know what it means in normal-people speak, but is it a specific term in relation to congressional/senatorial votes or procedures? Thanks! :hi:

5. 50/51 instead of over 60 (2/3)
Joe Biden might have to break a 50/50 tie.

Normally they go 2/3 vote in the Senate for something like this - but changing to a 50 or better is drastic. It's been done, but not often.

11. 60 is not 2/3 it is 3/5.
67 would be 2/3.

12. You are right
They're always saying on TV, "they don't have 60 votes in the Senate to pass this bill." It stuck in my mind, but 2/3 is needed, isn't it?

13. It's sixty votes to invoke cloture, which ends debate.
It used to take 2/3. I'm not sure when it was changed.

15. The man can give a speech.
I'm one of those wacky guys that cries all the time, but only when I'm happy or inspired.
