Well, did we reach the end yet?
On each major issue and decision important to liberals and (I would submit most democrats) we've heard (both from the administration in some terms and people on places like DU and elsewhere in the liberal blogosphere) that "This isn't the time to ram through (insert issue here) because it could jeopardize the more bold and progressive agenda on (insert other issue here)."

Don't be angry about simply shuffling the chairs around on the wars and in some cases ramping them up.....he doesn't want to lose the people because hes got to have broad support for the bold moves on the stimulus and on gay rights and on healthcare.

Don't get worked up over the continuation of Bush policies on detention and spying, etc.......there's a bold agenda coming on other issues and we don't want to jeopardize support for that.....Obama needs as many people as possible on his side.

Don't be angry about them punting or doing absolutely nothing on Don't Ask Don't Tell and/or Gay Marriage. It's not the time to lose broad support for his bold agenda on the economy and on health care.

Don't be upset that the Stimulus was not bold enough and included too much money for failed banks and didn't put caps on CEO bonuses or checks and balances on the taxpayer money.....he needs the support of some of these companies for bold and decisive action on health care and now isn't the time to piss anyone off.

So now we come down the road and it's "Baby steps on healthcare....something will pass but it won't be bold and it won't be liberal and it won't keep insurance companies and/or their CEO's in check....but we'll pass SOMETHING.

So if this proves to be the case on Healthcare reform does that mean that we get to go back to the top of the batting order and expect a little more on each of those other issues? Or is it "not the time".

Yeah, yeah....I know...nothing is done yet and I'm getting too upset before I have reason to, Obama is playing chess and I just don't see the big picture and well we ONLY have 59 Senators and yeah, yeah, yeah yeah....I know it all so you might want to save your flames. I'm just frustrated. And yeah, I know...get out there and work and make calls and e-mail and win people over.......I'm doing that and have done that. It's just starting to feel like getting played for a sucker.
