The right-wing hate speech polluting the debate over health care is generating more and more threats against President Obama, some truly frightening.

CNN anchor Rick Sanchez reports that when President Obama visited Phoenix, Ariz. on August 17, local minister Steven Anderson of the Faithful World Baptist Church, who strongly expresses hatred for Obama in many of his sermons, told his congregation that he wished him dead. In a disturbing twist, it was discovered that Chris Broughton, the man who brought an AR 15 assault rifle to the Phoenix rally where Obama spoke, had attended Anderson's sermon. In a later interview, Broughton said he concurred with his pastor's wish to see Obama "die and go to hell." As many as twelve men were seen walking around the Phoenix Convention Center with guns on that day.

With the increase of right-wing fascist on their brown shirt marches and white sheet wearing parades, I do hope that President Obama will be diligently protected and all references to violence in his regard will be investigated by the FBI.

And that lesson is that hate speech is never acceptable, inciting violence is never acceptable. The bigots are not, as Obama has said about bigots who speak hate against GLBT people, "good, decent and moral people." When that preacher who declared war on gay people for "trying to kill our children" was hired to speak for Obama, the candidate told us that these were good, decent and moral people, that many agree with them, and that they will always have his ear and a place at the table.
I bet he does not feel that this latest preacher is a good, decent or moral person, I am very sure Obama will not be inviting him to any table. There are petitions against this one, while the other got praised and also paid money to do his anti-gay routine, which he did right there on Obama's platform.
All I'm saying is that Obama and his ardents told gay people to accept hate speech against us as a political device, and to accept the haters as good people. I offer that Obama and his ardents should either practice what they preach, or consider the wrongs they committed against others using bigoted hate speech, and make apology and amends at once.

In July President Obama authorized extended Secret Service Protection for Dick Cheney. So tell Dick there has been cutbacks and he'll have to man-up and do without extended protection. The President needs all the protection he can get. In other words tell Dick to shut up and stay home or install a panic room. Dick shot his bff in the face so he's no stranger to guns.
