Good Luck with your speech this evening, President Obama! |
|
I hope it accomplishes what you are aiming for; solidifying support for Health Care reform from those who have yet to decide which way to go, and to inform those who are confused and don't have all of the facts. I hope that you affect enough of the citizenry listening and persuade them that your vision for reform is a solid one, and that they in turn get up off their asses and pressure their congresscritters, Democrats and Republicans to get this done, and to get it done right, and that we end up with a bill that will make a good difference for enough of us here in the United States.
I appreciate your efforts, and I realize that I can't get exactly what I order, but I'm glad that you are felt this issue important enough to make it a priority this early in your term, considering the other wideload of shit you inherited.
If this makes or breaks you, so be it. At least you are on record of making a real attempt to get it right, even if many don't believe you have been perfect in how you are doing it.
In the meantime, I'm going to concentrate my activist effort to attempt to bring reform to our media, because I believe they have become very dangerous to our democracy. I know that after your speech, they will be bending and twisting everything that you say tonight, and for that, I wish for them eternal hell.
Whatever happens, I wish you well, and hope that you kick beaucoup ass tonight.
Yours Truly,
A Democratic Supporter

I am writing a book called Dear Mr. President.... I need your storied on how he has either postively or negitively affected your life. This isn't to bash him or praise him, its just to gather other people stories and out them in writing and out into the world. No real names will be used and no information will be given out. It will be all in your own words. Please send me your sotries, ther is no limit on how short or how long it can be. Send them to dearmrpresidentnovel@gmail.com Thanks

I'd like to send emails to sponsors when there are shows on that tell lies, threaten lives, and generally spread hate, but I don't watch Fox at all so I don't even know who their sponsors are.
Maybe we will be happy tonight, Frenchie...
I think if the President does the really right thing for all Americans he will influence a public option vote or reconciliation. Heard on CNN that the health insurance companies have so far spend $380 million fighting reform and it will go much higher by the end of the year.
I hope that he will be on a coin or currency sometime in the future for his stand on health care reform...

14. You can never please everyone, but he'll do great like he always does! |
|
And I have no doubt the Progressives will be pissing and moaning afterwards because that's what they do.

19. You tell 'em! Us Blue Dogs & conservatives have had it with those pissing & moaning progressives!!! |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-09-09 05:50 PM by Dr Fate
When will they learn that moderates, Blue Dogs, DLCers & conservatives are right about everything!
Just look at the war, or Bush's economic plans, just to name 2 minor issues where conservatives & Blue Dogs schooled those silly progressives.
Moderates, Blue Dogs, DLCers, etc were RIGHT for 8 straight years during Bush, while the progressives were WRONG about EVERYTHING!
Those progressives must feel pretty stupid for moaning about our support for Bush, the war, etc. This will be more of the same, for sure.

13. He could give the greatest speech in the history of mankind and the media will still |
|
declare it a failure. Look forward to "this wasn't a game changer", "he needed to be more forceful", "he was too intellectual", "there was no passion/he was too cold", "where are the details?", and of course the old favorite "why can't he close the deal??".

tonight. His last two speeches have been terrific (school speech and labor day speech).
