Do people realize that under current plans most people can only select doctors |
|
within a network under their insurance plan?

1. my doctor will not take any patients |
|
that are in the local HMO.
So, if I change insurance, will she keep me?
She does not have to.

2. If you change insurance your likely option would be one of 2 or 3 major plans in the state. |
|
Each state has 2 or 3 companies that have a firm control on insurance plans. In each state one of those companies have more than 50% of the market and upward to 70% plus. Not exactly competition.

my doctor won't take the other plan(s). So I stay put. It is breaking me. At this point, I almost forfeit my entire pension in lieu of having crappy health benefits.
So, I pony up and pay and pay and pay.
I really do hope there is change - change that is better than what we have seen so far.
It is still early luckily.
I do have faith. :D
