3. All democrats, ALL AMERICANS should be damn happy tonight. |
|
we've actually got a President in the white house who gives a shit about us instead of someone who uses the podium and his pen to pander to the mega corporations

4. I am unsure how you extracted this |
|
we're still going to get our health care from private companies who will take 20% off the top and give it to their management.

5. nice cherry picking from the speech there. |
|
he also said the government will provide coverage for those who want/need it.
he stressed the importance of CHOICE to keep insurance costs down. did you not hear that??
but yeah.. keep complaining if it makes you feel better.

7. We already have CHOICE. It doesn't keep the costs down |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-09-09 08:32 PM by Doctor_J
I have a choice right now through work. I can choose the BCBS PPO, for which the premiums went up 30% last year and will do the same again this year, or the HMO, which will cause me to switch doctors and use generic equivalents of my prescriptions. In either case the cost will be nearly 10% of my income. A choice among more profiteering, thieving private companies does nothing for me.
In fact, that parsing might come right from the GOP. It sounds like the code words they use to make the Limbeciles blare about "Free Market", as if there is such a thing.

9. They can keep it. Give me the OPTION of not giving 20% of my health care |
|
expenditure to the CEO of a company. That's a real choice
