Just imagine if a Black Dem Congressmen did that to a White GOP President |
|
The Right Wing and the media would be calling for his/her head just like they did with Van Jones. There have been jeers and booes from Congress before a President in history, but never has someone been so disrespectful as what Joe Wilson did last night.
And I do think there was some overt racism involved. I do not think Joe Wilson or any Republican would disrespect the President in the manner they did if he was white. Just my two cents on the matter.

...a strong opponent for Wilson and that will send the message don't ever do that again. The Democratic party have a whole media machine working against them so they have to be measured but the people can show their disapproval at the ballot box. Hopefully to the point his opponent wins by a large margin so any GOPer thinking of trying this needs to think twice.

7. It's outrageous and Wilson should be censured at LEAST |
|
Bill Clinton was also heckled a lot too. It isn't as much a race issue as a respect issue but I wouldn't throw out race being a motivator for that scum Wilson to be so brazen and do that.

15. He'd have been deemed an "angry black man" and compared to |

Al Sharpton - or they'd look for links.
The media would be going on and on about the respect "due" to the office.
Race of the congressman might not even be a factor - it'd be almost as loud if a white congressman did it to a white President.

20. no, it isn't...the "race angle" |
|
is an integral part of the rw's insanity towards obama. the "race angle" is still a problem in america, and clearly in the south. and just as clearly: it's not just the south.
