Is the "lie" comment the "Police acted stupidely" from some weeks ago? |
|
It appeared that the "lie" started all news reports all day. Something for pundits to chew upon and to roll instead of the serious matter of the President's speech.

Which is why I think it was planned, not "spontaneous" as Wilson claims.

2. No, the Republicans aren't smart enough for that |
|
But the media are awful enough to ignore the speech in favor of some more exciting bit of nonsense. If it wasn't Wilson, it would have been Cantor's texting or some of the other, quieter heckling, or even how appropriate it was to use Kennedy's letter.
The media suck.

many don't accept his apology.

4. There's another reason to refuse his apology... |
|
He admitted on camera in an interview with the press that the only reason he called the White House to apologize was because the Republican leadership told him to. He showed no remorse.

6. Of course he does not regret it |
|
And as much as many of us donated to his opponent, I am sure that his campaign fund has received its own injections.
Still, probably was good idea by the White House to accept the apology and to dispose of this, hoping that the media will find something else to chew on.

5. The difference being.... |
|
..... last time the President still had a lot of work to do convincing people ..... this time, by the time of Mr. Wilson's outburst, the President had already done what he needed to do.

7. Ok, this is scary. I was just thinking that when I saw your post |
|
I think both statements were stupid, but everybody is entitled to act stupidly once. If either of them repeats the same mistake, then they've migrated from stupid to Republican.

8. Seemed like it could have been pre-planned. |
|
Private insurers paid right wing PR firms to stir up fear and hatred in vulnerable populations to keep the summer dialog off of how seriously broken our for-profit health insurance system is, and our right wing dominated media ran with those stories, instead of ignoring the lunatic fringe in favor of a serious debate.
So, cynical Republicans like Gingrich, Rove, Luntz et al, may just have figured the Blessed Corporations would appreciate a little distraction from the serious debate President Obama was calling for.
